Landis Construction is a WBENC-Certified WBE and a premier commercial general contractor in New Orleans and across the Gulf South. Their old website, built on Joomla, needed a visual refresh and significant improvements to the user experience — unintuitive navigation kept visitors from easily finding the information they wanted, and admin processes for updating content and showcasing recent projects were clunky and confusing. Landis Construction wanted a modern, mobile-friendly, and easy-to-update website that could effectively highlight their impressive project portfolio.
Online Optimism developed a new website for Landis Construction with refined, architecturally-inspired designs that prominently feature high-quality photos of their many past construction projects. To support the visually-compelling user experience, we designed each page to load quickly on any device, with optimized images and mobile-friendly layouts. With the new site, Landis Construction’s beautiful work is easy to see on any screen.
Migrating all of Landis Construction’s content to WordPress was an improvement in itself over the previous editing process, but we wanted a truly effortless experience for Landis’s editing team. We created easy-to-use custom templates for publishing new projects, awards, testimonials, news articles, and team members, so that updating any content was as simple as filling out a form. And as always, we provided a recorded website training and a dedicated user manual for later reference!
Another priority was creating an intuitive navigation setup for the website’s particular structure. To avoid cluttering the main menu, we implemented dynamic sidebar menus that allow visitors to navigate to different project categories, news types, or services, depending on the page. This minimized the click depth and kept the main navigation simple while allowing potential clients and partners to easily find the information they need.
