Redesigning Elysian Events Catering’s SEO-Optimized Website

Elysian Events Catering is a full-service catering company based in New Orleans; they were also an existing SEO client of ours when they came to us for a website redesign. We rebuilt and expanded their site with an updated look while maintaining the blog posts, pillar page strategy, and other structures from their SEO campaign.

Expanded Visuals

Elysian’s previous website had a fairly basic look and mainly used only black and white with photos. We worked with their team to enhance their website visuals, such as adding a few new colors and a new heading font, to expand their visual brand into a warmer, more New Orleans-based look that was still cohesive with their existing logo.

Maintaining Pillar Page Strategy

Our Content & SEO team was already running an SEO campaign for Elysian Events Catering when our Design & Development team began the website redesign. As such, it was important that we collaborated to ensure their site didn’t lose any SEO-related structures or gains during the process. A principal element of the SEO team’s strategy centered around a pillar page created for Elysian’s Wedding Packages; this page included an expansive FAQ, several internal and external links, and SEO-optimized copy. We designed this page early on to ensure it would accommodate all this content but still be legible, well-organized, and informative for site visitors. A few months after the site’s launch, Elysian’s pillar page strategy is still working well!

Blog Post Migration

We also migrated Elysian’s previous blog posts over to their new site as part of the redesign’s launch, which is called “Insights & Updates” on the site. We expanded their setup by adding in tags for their most common subject areas, and we brought the posts more front and center on the site, linking from its other high-traffic pages to relevant posts based on tags.
